Public Opinion and Behavior
Several facets of the political behavior of mass actors in American politics. Likely topics include the factors that cause the type and amount of individual participation, mobilization by elites, ideology and information, partisanship, partisan stability and change, socialization, macro-level change, negative advertising, economic voting, issue evolution, and the effects of institutional changes (especially election rules) on voter turnout. Consent of Instructor required. One course / 3 units.
