I am a doctoral candidate in political science at Duke University. I am also a member of Scott Huettel's neuroscience laboratoryin Duke's Psychology and Neuroscience department (https://sites.duke.edu/huettellab/). My current research is focused on two areas. First, I study political preferences and choices. I examine how voters employ heterogeneous algorithms when making political choices. Second, I have multiple projects on the role of identity in choicethat expand our conception of identity past simply party identification. In particular, my most recent work examines how identity competes with policy in explaining political choices. To investigate these questions, I employdiverse methods including appliedstatistics, behavioral experiments, and eye-tracking processes.
