My Political Science degree coursework focused on international/comparative government systems, which was an excellent foundation for my current career in international development. I also learned to write well as a Political Science major, which prepared me to succeed in law school and beyond.
Although it is a generalist degree, don't discount the practical skills you will gain as a Political Science major. You will learn how to analyze texts, how to create strong arguments, and how to write in a persuasive and concise manner. These skills are in-demand in many different sectors and will serve you well, long after your journey at Duke University!
