For Prospective Students

The ratio of students to faculty is 2:1. As a student in our program, you are joining a supportive community both intellectually and socially. Graduate student colloquium is a core part of our program, as are cook-outs, parties and the annual graduate school camp-out for Duke men's basketball tickets.

*Due to an unexpectedly high yield in last year’s PhD recruiting class, we will not admit any new PhD students for fall 2020. We are still accepting applications for our MA and MAPE programs.

Our program prides itself on providing a rich educational environment and a collaborative intellectual community, and we could not achieve that with a PhD class of limited size. We expect to admit a full class for fall 2021. Should you still be considering graduate programs at that time, we would welcome your application.*
