Mateo Villamizar Chaparro

Mateo Villamizar-Chaparro is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Political Economy subfield. His work analyzes how the movement of people transform local politics and how minority groups participate in the political arena. His research focuses on Latin America, and draws upon comparative politics, historical political economy, and migration studies. His dissertation examines the political and distributive effects of current and past waves of national and international migration in Brazil and Colombia.
