Money and Power in Christian Thought and the Social Sciences
POLSCI 432S
Explores challenges of inequality–of money and power–from perspectives common in Christian thought and social science disciplines. No presumption of a background in theology or social science scholarship, nor a presumption of experience in a faith community. Course will help students develop skills in how to draw from different social science disciplines to understand the challenges related to money and power; how to engage with theological texts to understand the contours of different positions; how to use academic writing to contribute to greater understanding of the challenges; and how to develop arguments that apply theological, moral, or philosophical ideas to real-world problems.
