The Polarization Lab at Duke brings together scholars from the social sciences, statistics, and computer science to study how to bridge America’s partisan divide. They aim to produce the highest quality research about how social media shapes political polarization, drawing upon the latest advances in social psychology, political science, and machine learning. In addition, their goal is to translate the insights from our research into tools that people can use to hack political polarization from the bottom up.
The Worldview Lab is an interdisciplinary collaborative research group funded by the Kenan Institute for Ethics, directed by Stephen Vaisey (Professor of Sociology and Political Science and Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics) and Christopher Johnston (Associate Professor of Political Science). Its goal is to better understand diversity in values, goals, and worldviews both internationally and within contemporary American society.
