2013 Major: Political Science and International Comparative Studies
Current Employer: Google — Mountain View, California
How has being a Political Science graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?
Like ICS (International Comparative Studies), Political Science was a means by which I could broaden my skillset, specifically with a research and analytical lens. Ultimately, employers have focused less on what I have studied since they are aware that every major at Duke is intensive, and thus all graduates bring a skillset that they can utilize.
What advice would you give students?
Study whatever sparks your interest since a Duke degree is highly marketable regardless. Just make sure that you make concerted efforts to become highly knowledgable in your field so take classes beyond the core, do research, and make meaningful connections with professors.
